    The primary purpose of this role is to provide first-level technical support to customers via the telephone and/or Internet (e.g., instant message, email). The incumbent will assess the nature of system or service issues and resolves technical or sophisticated support problems through independent judgement and advanced problem solving skills.

    Responsibilities

    Responsibilities

    • Interact with customers and or remotely login to their servers to help troubleshoot and resolve backup problems or issues
    • Diagnose and resolve customer questions or problems over the telephone/Internet and through remote access to customer servers in the areas of SQL Server backups, Tape backups and Assure Business Continuity Solutions
    • Track and document inbound support requests and ensure proper notation of customer problems or issues in the open cases/tickets
    • Stay abreast of current technology in SQL backups, tape backups, Assure business continuity planning backups and cloud backups design changes, and new products offered
    • May travel to on-site for exposure to training, technology and or to resolve complex customer and product issues

    Qualifications

    • Technical Skills

      • 1-3 years’ experience in Support environment (handling issues and working with clients).
      • 1-3 years’ experience working on Windows Server/SQL Server/Active Directory / Backups & Storage
      • Work experience on any tape backup technologies will be an added advantage
      • Ready to work in evening shifts and as On-Call person on rotational basis
      • Hands on and or equivalent knowledge on
      • Windows Server 2008/2012
      • Backups & Disaster Recovery / Backup Technologies
      • SQL Server and native SQL backups
      • Basic know how on Networking
      • Storage components

    Work Arrangements:

    • Able and willing to work on shifts or to be on an after hours beeper rotation
